They were pretty reliable.  If you take a look at the forecast from wunderground below, you would think I was living in a snow belt!  That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wunderground.com\/global\/stations\/47635.html\">Nagoya Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/wunder1.jpg\" alt=\"Snow day soon?\" class=\"aligncenter\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you look at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wunderground.com\/global\/stations\/47636.html\">Nagoya City<\/a>, it is a bit different story.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/wunder2.jpg\" alt=\"It is only rain ...\" class=\"aligncenter\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the difference?  The airport is a little bit away from the city but on the coast \u00e2\u20ac\u201c so certainly not at higher elevation.  Both of these forecasts are \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Nagoya.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/wnagoya.jpg\" alt=\"Which do I choose?\" class=\"aligncenter\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you go to <a href=\"http:\/\/weather.yahoo.co.jp\/weather\/jp\/23\/5110.html\">Yahoo! Japan<\/a>, it looks like pretty nice weather coming up.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/wyahoo.jpg\" alt=\"Just a few clouds\" class=\"aligncenter\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Finally, if you look at the official <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jma.go.jp\/en\/week\/329.html\">Japanese government weather forecast<\/a>, it looks a lot like the Yahoo! forecast.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/wjma.jpg\" alt=\"Statistically speaking ...\" class=\"aligncenter\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I think the Weather Underground forecaster just wants to see some snow, kind of like a little kid wishfully thinking that tomorrow will be a snow day.  In the end, I believe all the meteorological information is from the same government source, and the difference is only how the icons are applied.  At what percentage chance of participation do you change from a sun to a precipitation icon?  What temperature leads you to a cloud dropping snow or dropping rain?<\/p>\n<p>I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know why I thought this would be interesting.  I guess since the time I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been here I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been amused by the variety of forecasts that I can find on the internet.
