In it, a professor emeritus of history at Tokyo&#8217;s Hitotsubashi University, Masanori Nakamura, states, &#8220;<em>Tokyo Tower stood for a dream of the future, but that dream is gone.  Tokyo Tower offers no more dreams, just as Japan has no more dreams.<\/em>&#8221;  Ouch!  I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not sure if I completely disagree, but I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t completely agree either.<\/p>\n<p>This article, coupled with a request to include more pictures, made me think about some Tokyo Tower pictures I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve had sitting around in my archives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_tower.jpg\" alt=\"A color shot of Tokyo Tower from the base\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Climbing the tower to the first observatory level,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_skeleton.jpg\" alt=\"Inside the structure\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The elevator is the very idea of modern,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_elevator.jpg\" alt=\"The elevator to the next level\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The view from the top is impressive,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_view.jpg\" alt=\"The roads make a star shape\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I also had some black and white pictures I shot on film (remember film?) last year.<\/p>\n<p>An uninspired tower photo,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_bwtower.jpg\" alt=\"The tower, in black and white\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A parking area under the tower for tour buses,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_bwbuses.jpg\" alt=\"Bus parking\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Resting quietly.  Everyone else is inside,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_bwbench.jpg\" alt=\"Resting\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There is a mini-amusement park on the way up.  Why?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_bwhorse.jpg\" alt=\"A very small merry-go-round\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The elves are a little scary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_bwelves.jpg\" alt=\"Why?\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This character must be dangerous as it is fenced in.  Is this Thomas?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_bwtrapped.jpg\" alt=\"Caution:  Character may bite\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Pikachu is obligatory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/tt_bwpika.jpg\" alt=\"A very large Pikachu.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Finally, who can resist their lovable mascots?  You be the judge of what they look like.  I have my ideas.
