It seems like at least 2 years.  I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be sure.  I do have some historical records I think on various blog posts.  Here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a post from <a href=\"http:\/\/triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/2011\/01\/16\/pretty-in-the-snow\/\">January<\/a>, and here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s one from <a href=\"http:\/\/triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/2009\/10\/31\/caution-caution-warning-warning\/\">October \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 of 2009<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, they finally opened up the approximately 800 meter bike lane.  It removed a lane on a very busy street.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/bl_1.jpg\" alt=\"Opening Day\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The first day the sidewalk was armed with heavily clothed workers on a lower \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc90s kind of day (34 degC) with quite a bit of humidity directing traffic to the new bike lane.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/bl_2.jpg\" alt=\"Controlling the flow\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/bl_3.jpg\" alt=\"It gets a little confusing\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lots of signage and rules associated with this bike lane and parking areas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/bl_4.jpg\" alt=\"No lack of signage\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/bl_5.jpg\" alt=\"No lack of signage\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/bl_6.jpg\" alt=\"No lack of signage\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/bl_7.jpg\" alt=\"No lack of signage\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>People seemed to be using it pretty happily, well most people.  It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s funny to me, because I only see these bike lanes on streets with really wide sidewalks anyway!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.triplefstudio.com\/yokoso\/images\/bl_8.jpg\" alt=\"This way please\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The city has been working on a bike lane for a very long time.
